The motor drives the carriage for scanning heads in a cassette tape recorder. Their working position for tape scanning and outer position releasing the cassette are controllable. The carriage motor (20) operates contacts (11, 12) in its working position through a control disc (30), which connect the motor (20) winding to a store (I), e.g. a charged capacitor (8), which in case of supply failure moves the motor (20) to its outer position. A braking circuit is connected in with the winding of the setting motor.
