The emergency stopping device is for machines or sets of machines and comprises a transmitter worn by the operator with a large-area transmission key. A receiver connected to the machine drive stops the latter on receipt of a signal from the transmitter. The latter can have a clip for securing to the front of the operator's shirt or a necklace or spring strip also a special key or pin to cut the machine drive in again. It can be battery-operated, while the receiver is accommodated in the machine control cubile and connected to the same mains supply.
