The building has a habitable rooms (4) with enclosed verandahs (7) between inner (5) and outer (6) walls on one outside face. A vertical air duct (10) passes down the inside of the building. It has openings (11) at high level into each room (4). The room has an opening (9) at low level into the enclosed verandah (7) and the verandah has an opening (8) at high level to the outside. The vertical duct (10) joints a horizontal duct (14) on the roof. This has one inlet (15) from atmosphere and a second branch (18) which has an opening to atmosphere (16), a heat store (19), a reversible fan (20) and a humidifier (21). The fan runs in opposite directions at day and night times.
