Fail=safe release circuit for vehicle air bag - has low-pass filter and is mounted in HF shielding housing

The sensor for the vehicle impacts is mounted in a special housing to screen it from high frequency vibrations which would otherwise lead to premature release of the airbag protection system. A low pass filter links the sensor to the detector head. The system provides an improved collision sensor which only operates in serious impacts. The electric connections to the sensor housing are mechanically decoupled to eliminate errors.
