摘要 <p>A temperature regulator assembly for an automatic temperature control system for the passenger compartment of an automotive vehicle operates by vacuum signal modulated by a sensor (20) responsive to the difference between an operator selected temperature which sets the bias of the preload mechanism (22) and the temperature of air in the passenger compartment of the vehicle which is entrained through opening (48) to flow over a bimetal temperature sensing element (138) of the sensor. A vacuum actuator (14) operated by a modulated vacuum signal produced in the sensor (20) operates an air-blend door via a control rod (40) for controlling the passage of blower driven heated and cooled air into the passenger compartment. The improvement lies in the subassembly of bimetal temperature sensing element (138) directly coupled to a vacuum signal modulator valve, the direct coupling of the preload mechanism to the valve and the direct feedback of the position of the vacuum actuator to the bimetal sensing element via a spring (160) and lever (162). With this arrangement, the sensor (20) may be pre-calibrated for vacuum control output to the actuator as a function of the temperature sensed by the element (138) and final calibration may be readily achieved via the adjustment of the anchorage of the preload spring (22). By providing feedback, selective control inputs by the operator are attenuated and better regulation achieved. </p>
