<p>The stretch packing machine has a plate with an opening, under which a stretchable sheet of material is delivered, clamps securing its guide and side edges near the opening. A current of air is directed by a pipe (33) onto the sheet (12) at the opening (13), so as to move it as its guide edge moves towards the clamp (21), lifting it periodically into engagement with the latter. The current can be delivered below the sheet, and via a row of nozzles above the plate opening and along the side opposite that engaged by the clamp.</p> |
