The shoe cupboard or box has lateral inside walls (3,3') each with two arms (13) hinged at the top of the inner walls, off-set and spaced from each other. These arms are connected together by a spring (18) and are associated with a common locally fixed stop (12) and drive member (16) fastened to the actual holder part (8). This has several radial plates formed at the sides by sector-like discs. The drive member is fastened to the actual holder part which thus remains closed until opened against spring force.
