<p>A combined transporting and storing system for elongated nuclear fuel elements, inside and outside power plants and processing plants, uses a supporting rack which can be used both for storing the elements and for supporting them while they are in the transporting container. Pref., a number of fuel elements are loaded into the rack and this is then placed in the container; the container is then transported and the rack is removed to be placed in the store alongside and in conjunction with other racks to form a rack assembly. Used for transporting new and/or used fuel elements. The handling of elements in and out of support structures inside the transporting vessel in eliminated and no empty internal frameworks need to be handled.</p> |
