A series resistor (Rv) is connected to each capacitor (C) whose resistance depends on the capacitors to be formed and on the forming voltage. The forming is carried out in temp. and voltage cycles between two temp. and voltage limits. The voltage drop across each resistor is measured at the upper and lower temp. limits, and the process of forming the capacitor is finished when the ratio of voltage drops achieved at the two temp. limits falls below a value typical for the capacitor. There are two busbars (1) with several resistor and capacitor assemblies connected between them; they operate in parallel and they are put through the temp. and voltage cycles together.
