Sieve band press for dewatering slurries - with pressure rollers alternating between pressing and relaxation positions

Sieve band press for dewater slurries has a press zone contg. two sieve bands (carried on permeable support bands) which enclose the slurry. The bands pass between a gp. of stationary support rollers and a gp. of mobile press rollers, the latter being driven to and fro relative to the support rollers. The new feature is that the pressure rollers move between (a) a high pressure pressing position in which the sieve bands are forced into a wavy path, and (b) a release zone in which the waves in the band are reduced or eliminated. This movement is controlled by a programmeable load pattern. The dwell time (TN) of the rollers in the release zone is smaller than that taken (TD) for the bands to pass through the press zone and smaller than the dwell time (TH) of the rollers in the high pressure position. Larger amts. of slurry can be processed per unit time and different types of slurry can be accommodated by adjusting the various dwell times.
