A pile of cylindrical members 2, particularly pressurised gas cylinders where the lower layer of cylindrical members rests on support means 3, the other layers being placed in a staggered manner on the underlying layer, is stowed on a vehicle chassis 1 by straps 7 fixed to the chassis and provided with tensioning means 11. The straps encircling the pile of cylindrical members are cables, whose ends are connected to a structure fixed to the chassis by tensioning means, each located beneath the plane of the lower layer of the pile. The tensioning means are disposed in such a way as to bring about a spring tension of the associated cable and an articulated mounting of the cable ends on the structure fixed to the chassis. <IMAGE> |
