A control device for the fuel pump of an internal combustion engine includes a piston which can be subjected to a fluid pressure to move a control member of the fuel pump to a position in which no fuel is supplied to the engine. Fluid under pressure is admitted to the cylinder containing the piston through an inlet and a solenoid operable valve is provided for controlling the admission of fluid to the cylinder.
