<p>The stone block cutting machine has a sawing rope continuously supplied with an abrasive in suspension and comprising two or more strips twisted together, travelling in the lengthwise direction over guide and driving pulleys. One or more of the pulleys are movable up and down at the side of the frame in which the block is accommodated. A rope of limited length is used, wound onto a first drum and reeved via guide and drive pulleys at opposite ends of the sawing run onto a second drum. Its length can be 1000 metres or more, both ends being attached to the drums, the drives to which are reversible together.</p> |
