Metal salts of substd. bis-naphthalene sulphonic acids - having complement inhibiting activity, useful as antiinflammatories

Naphthalene sulphonic acid salts of formula (I) are new (where A is alkali or alkaline earth metal; R is OH or SO3A. A typical prod. is octosodium 8,8'- (2,2'-disulpho-4,4'-bishenylylene)bis(2-thioureylene) di-1,- 3,6-naphthalene trisulphonate. In an example this was prepd. from 0.98g disodium 4,4'-diamino-2,2'-diphenyl disulphonate and 2.55g trisodium 8-isothiocyanato-1,3,6-napthalene trisulphonate in water. The yield was 3.43 g.
