<p>The engine has two opposed working pistons (16, 17) rigidly connected with each other and with two compressor pistons (6, 6') between them. the working cylinders (22, 22) and the compressor cylinders (5) are contained in a single housing (4). The piston assembly has radial pins (10) projecting from it with roller guides (11, 12) at the ends. These rollers run in a helical groove (13) on the inside of the housing. They impart a rotary motion to the pistons as they reciprocate. the compressed air passes through jackets (26, 27) before entering the cylinders.</p> |
