Moulding of building elements of concrete etc. - using parting agent contg. montan wax and emulsifier in water

Building components of concrete, gypsym-, anhydrite or gas concrete, esp. reinforced concrete are made in moulds coated with a release agent contg. (A) 6-30 parts montan wax, (B) 1-7 parts ethylene oxide adduct of an alkyl phenol and/or long-chain fatty acid as emulsifier, and (C) water up to 100 parts, opt. with inclusion of paraffin wax, polyethylene wax or their oxidn. products, and/or polyhydric alcohols. The emulsion is applied to moulds at 260-360 degrees K by hard or by spraying under 150-755 kPa pressure. Easier demoulding and better surface finish of components than from usual mineral oil types are obtd. The emulsions than from usual mineral oil types are obtd. The emulsions cause no pollation, e.g. of ground water, or skin complaints. Costs of after-treatment of components and repairs to moulds are reduced. Fire and explosion hazards are eliminated waiting times during pre-fabrication or on site are reduced. Multiple mouldings may be produced from a single coating, and no oily residue is left on the concrete to interfere with subsequent treatment.
