PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge device of which configuration in device can be made compact in size even if a desired rotational torque can be generated, and provide information equipment including the hinge device.SOLUTION: A hinge device 10 is a device for connecting in openable or closable manner between a main body housing 16 and a display housing 14 constituting a portable information unit 12. This hinge device 10 includes a first shaft 24 fixed to the main body housing 16, a first torque generating mechanism 40 for generating a running torque at the first shaft 24, a second shaft 26 fixed to the display housing 14, and a second torque generating mechanism 42 for generating a running torque at the second shaft 26. This device configuration is made small in size by arranging the first torque generating mechanism 40 at a location displaced from an axial extended line of the first shaft 24 and by arranging the second torque generating mechanism 42 at a location displaced from an axial extended line of the second shaft 26.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
