PURPOSE:To perform automatic measurement and automatic setting smoothly without malfunction by displaying fixed-period continuation of no regeneration output giving an alarm. CONSTITUTION:A regenerated reference signal is inputted to rectifier circuit 18 by way of amplifier circuit 16 and waveform shaping circuit 17 and then converted into a direct-current signal, but once the occurrence of a trouble in tape drive stops an regeneration output, the output waveform of circuit 18 changes. Since circuit 18 has a capacitor and discharging resistor, a rectified voltage damps suddenly when the regeneration output becomes zero according to the time constant determined by the capacitor and resistance. As a result, the voltage rectified into a rectangular waveform by waveform shaping circuit 19 triggers time generating circuit 21 via differentiating circuit 20. Signals, obtained by inverting the output and that of circuit 19 by inverter circuit 25 are inputted to AND circuit 22, where the both are AND-ed, and the output is stored in memory circuit 25 before display alarm circuit 24 is driven. Consequently, automatic measurement and automatic setting can be performed smoothly. |
