The cap is for fragile containers such as glass or plastic vessels. A central region is enclosed by a cylindrical projection which ends in circumferential flange made up of one or more windings. The flange (4) is fixed with the aid of a circumferential pressure and is held in a bottom part of the projection (11) of the container neck (3). The cap (2) fixes results by the coordinated action of a circumferential roll off and a compression of the flange of the cap into the bottom part of the projection.
