The insulated element incorporates electrical contacts for the bulb, also a first socket for the skirt of the bulb. To support the bulb and hold it against these contacts a female thread in the socket wall accommodates a male thread on the bulb skirt. Means can also be included for securing it to a cap through which wires pass, together with a second mounting for a reflector etc. It can be cylindrical, with the first socket formed in it and joining onto the second socket, which ends in a collar in the extension of the body. A further collar can be provided, to centre the element in the cap. |
