The mounting secures a rotary drive mechanism to a stop valve having a rotary plug, the mechanism output shaft being coaxial to the plug spindle. It is mounted on a face of the drive mechanism towards the valve. This face(14) has an annular recess(15) coaxial to the output shaft, in which the first portion(16) of a centring ring(17) fits. The second portion(18) of this ring fits in an annular recess(20), coaxial to the output shaft, in the mounting(3). The annular recess can be a groove of internal dia.(D1) greater than that(D2) of the bore in the drive housing through which the shaft passes.
