<p>In the mfr. of an optical fibre communications cable the hollow spaces within the core and the mantle of the cable is filled with softened and cross-linked plastic based on polyurethane, epoxy resin or polyester resin. At least the outer part of the cable mantle is composed of a material, resistant to leakage current, based on polyolefines, partic. polyethylene or polypropylene, or a polyurethane, polyester or polyester elastomer. The design gives a fully-insulated communications cable, based on fibre optics, which can be laid in place for high tension applications.</p> |
