The power system includes an analog to digital converter for sensing the difference between a reference voltage and the output voltage. Also included is a digital control processor connected to receive and process the difference or error signal representative of the measured difference and to provide the control pulses to the power supplies. A control memory is connected to the processor to provide a program of instructions to the processor such that the processor provides a change in the width of the control pulses. The power supply thereby provides a programmed change in the output voltage in response to the change of the pulse width of the pair of control pulses.
