The actual massage unit is formed by a subsequently cylindrical or slightly convex rotary body (4) which is covered by a replaceable friction sleeve fitted with friction elements (7). The rotary body rotates with a drive shaft (3) set on a longitudinal axis and is mounted at least one end on a support bearing (6). An easily replaceable towelling sleeve fits over the rotary body (4) from the other end. The rotary body can be driven individually or together with other such bodies by a drive motor set outside the shower room.
