The machine can be set for use in making either tea (A) or coffee (B) whereupon the desired amount of water can be brought to the required temp. (maximum boiling) in the heating container (1). A temp. -dependent valve (2) regulates the rate of flow of the water according to program (A) or (B) whereupon the water is fed via a telescopic tube (3) into the filter unit (5A) and then into the beverage container (6) set on the hot plate (7). For making tea a lift mechanism (4) automatically stops the drawing process after a preset time by bringing the filter unit (5A) into position (II) to sound the alarm. The water-heating container (1) can be made of a fireproof glass whereupon the heating conductor can be cast in the glass.
