PURPOSE:To produce the captioned lens free from surface undulations and distortions by injecting the syrup form material composed of methacrylate-base bead- form resin and methyl methacrylate in the specified molds, causing the same to polymerize and set and applying finishing fabrication. CONSTITUTION:The syrup-form material is formed by partially dissolving 70- 10pts. wt. of the bead-form polymer of mean grain sizes about 0.01-0.3mm obtained through suspension polymerization of methyl methacrylate (causing about 5wt% or less of methyl acrylate to copolymerize is equally well) to 30-90pts. wt. of methyl methacrylate. Next, the above-mentioned syrup-form material is injected into the mold comprising opposedly providing the upper and lower molds 1, 2 having been polished to lens form by way of a gasket 3 composed of elastic material, thence it is pressed at about 5-20kg/cm<2> at about 50-130 deg.C to polymerize. After the setting, it is slowly cooled and is then taken out from the mold. Peripheral parts a' are cut and finished by polishing, whereby the lens molding a is obtained. |
