PURPOSE:To enable the continuous hydrolysis of an alkylene carbonate, by separating a specific crystal line inorganic anion exchanger used as a catalyst easily from the reaction liquid. CONSTITUTION:An alkylene carbonate is hydrolyzed in the presence of a specific crystal line inorganic anion exchanger of the formula Mx<2+>My<3+>.(OH)2x-3y-z.
