The sprung car seat comprises a frame carrying the seat cushion which is supported on a bottom frame via pivoted links (11) and an air spring. The seat level is kept constant irrespective of the wt. of the occupant by a valve assembly (23) which vents air from, or admits compressed air to, the spring as the seat moves above and below its selected level respectively. The valve operating mechanism (22, 28, 29) contains a lost-motion (x) link (24, 25) so that it maintains its position after it has opened one or the other valve (28, 29) and its movement lags behind the oscillating motion of the seat.
