A MULTI-POINT, FLOATING GRID, DIGITAL AUDIO WORKSTATION MODEL

This invention provides a new model of a DAW that uses record-able floating grid segments in place of the fixed background metronomic grid of all orthodox sequencers (DAW's). While a single user recorded, grid segment, could be quantized, copied and thus extended (within this new model) to include a whole musical production (and thereby perfectly mimic an orthodox DAW) the floating and surgical nature of a read/write multi-grid offers improved work flow and flexibility for the recording musician - while focusing computational power at the grid where it is most needed. This floating-grid sequencer model is suitable for all music sequencers, be they software, hardware or workstation keyboards that have on-board sequencers.
