The tanker has metal stern and prow with a central concrete portion for the cargo, with devices which keep it under pressure, a cargo hold with a water-tight casing of insulating material and a flexible metal membrane and inner and other concrete walls. The insulation comprises boxes filled with thermal insulating material and the metallic membrane consists of strips of invar. The concrete portion has at least three cargo holds.
