PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality seal with normal relief at high efficiency by engraving with the laser beams the seal surface over which is formed a resist film and then removing the deposit layer and resist film. CONSTITUTION:A resist composition is applied to the entire surface 3 of a seal 2 to form a resist film 5 and then the laser beams 1 are applied to the seal surface 3 from a laser oscillator 6 to effect engraving to form the stamping faces 7 having the resist film 5, engraved recesses 4 and a deposit layer a. Then an abrasive 10 is blown to the seal surface 3 from a discharge pipe 9 to remove the deposit layer a and the discolored layers b formed at the bottom of the recesses 4, and then the resist film 5 is removed from the stamping faces 7. |
