Forming horse manure into granules of 90 per cent dry matter - by homogenising, drying, crushing, cycloning and pressing

Fresh manure is homogenised (2) and crumbled before being fed into a rotary dryer supplied with hot air. The dryer has internal combs to delay and extend the drying time or straw-like constituents only. The drying includes >10 seconds at 60 degrees-80 degrees C. The internal combs are restricted pref. to the first 25% to 35% of the length of the dryer. The dried prod is cycloned, hammer-milled and conveyed to a granule press delivering granules or 4-12mm dia and 4 to 20mm length. The granules are cooled screwed and packed.
