Color, dark red to reddish brown; melting point >=300 deg.C; solubility, insoluble in hexane, etc., slightly soluble in ethyl acetate, etc., soluble in ethanol, easily soluble in methanol, etc.; color reactions, negative to ninhydrin reaction, etc., positive to Drapendorff's test, etc.; elemental analysis, [B1], C 55.61+ or -1.0, H 6.31+ or -0.5, N 13.64+ or -1.0; [B2], C 57.40+ or -1.0, H 6.51+ or -0.5, N 13.44+ or -1.0; [B3], C 58.74+ or -1.0, H 6.64+ or -0.5, N 14.31+ or -1.0; weakly basic. USE:Antibacterial agents effective to gram-netative, gram-positive, and antiacid bacteria. Anti-tumor agent, antiseptic agent, etc. having R-plasmid-removing, and strong nucleic acid synthesis inhibiting activities. PROCESS:Nocardia sp.No.C-14482 (FERM-P No.4779) are inoculated in a medium, and cultured at 20-32 deg.C under almost neutral conditions, for 72-192hr, and the objective substance is separated from the cultured products.</p> |
