<p>Unvulcanised rubber strips are bonded edge-to-edge. The machine has a table to carry the strips and positions their ends where it has a bonding pressure device, this device has a pair of rollers each side of the materials; one pair is on each side of the joint and on inclined shafts so as to press the component together, another device presses the material faces together. The carrying table has a slit parallel to and beneath the joint, the lower rollers are below the top of the table and engage the bottom of the edges of the strips, a sec. pressure system operates together with the first mentioned, both pressure devices move parallel to the slit and from halfway along the material edges and halfway along the slit to each side of the joint edges. The pressure devices have power drives. Suitable for bonding reinforced materials into continuous webs in the typre prodn., it can be fitted to the cutter for rubberised fabric if desired, the positioning can be done manually, the materials used do not have to be completely flat.</p> |
