A semireflecting glass is made with a soln. of>=1 hybrid mol. complex with the formula MXmY2-m in an aliph. solvent in which M is a transition metal (i.e Fe, Cr, or Co), X is an acetylacetone radical, and Y is aβ-diketone C6-10 radical i.e isovalerolylacetone). This solution is projected onto a glass sheet which was preheated to 580-640≦̸C to evap. the solvent and to pyrolyze the hybrid mol.
