摘要 <p>During the redn. of the oxide via a reducing agent, esp. a gas, a flowmeter and a gas analysis appts. is located on both the inlet and exit for the gas, so that the redn. speed and compsn. of the gases can be determined at a given time and the data used to calculate the degree of redn. (DOR). The reducing agent is pref. (a) CO + H2, where the change in either the CO2 and H2O contents, or in the CO and H2 contents, are monitored; or (b) a carbonaceous solid, where the O2 content of the gas produced is monitored. In the pref. process, the charge of iron oxide is stationary, and the gas flow and compn. are measured in the gas inlet and outlet pipes. The overal result is the accurate determn. of the DOR.</p>
