The binder comprises a front (1) and rear cover (2) connected by a spine (3). The spine and/or the rear or front cover carries hooks (6) to hold perforated sheets (11). The hooks are formed as the windings of a helical coil passing through a number of parallel curved passages (5) in a carrier plate (4) fixed to spine front or rear cover. The passages are spaced and positioned to permit the coil to be screwed in. The plate (4) may have two pairs of helically offset locating pins (13, 14) to facilitate alignment of the sheets (11) and the passages (5) via perforations in the sheets.
