<p>Furan and pyrrole derivs. of formula (I) and their acid-addn. salts are new. R1 and R2 are H, halogen, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C acylamino or CH2CONH2; R3 and R4 are H or Me; R5 is H, dimethoxyphenyl or R6CONH; R6 is 1-4C alkyl; A is O or NR; R is H or 1-4C alkyl. Cpds. (I) having beta-adrenolytic and hypotensive activity, and are useful for treating angina pectoris, hypertension and arrhythmia. An example of (I) is 4- 2-(2-hydroxy-3-t-butylaminopropoxy)-4-chlorophenyl -2,5-dihydr- o-2-furanone.</p> |
