Metal dosing scoop, esp. for pressure or gravity die casting - where tiltable scoop can be moved horizontally and vertically between furnace and die casting machine

Vertical bar with a hexagonal cross-section can be driven vertically in a trolley which can be moved horizontally along a rail or girder. On the top end of the hexagona bar is a compressed air cylinder with its piston rod moving an axial rod to tilt a pouring and dosing scoop mounted on a pivot at the bottom end of the bar. Rod is fitted with an adjustable and spring-loaded limit stop which controls the angle through which the scoop is tilted and therefore amt. of molten metal pured from the scoop into a die etc. After supplying the dose, the scoop is pref. titled slightly towards the upright position before returning to a furnace to collect more molten metal.
