<p>The darkroom equipment for opening and closing of cassettes has two sliders to grip the cassette from each end, with the sliders located in a groove (2) in a baseplate (1). One sider has a shaft (8) to press into one end of the cassette while the other end has a die (9) to grip the cap. The film guide is located against a lateral stop to line up the film leader with a loading/unloading feed. The whole operation is controlled by a hand operated turn catch (11) over the holder. The operator holds the cassette with one hand and operates the turn catch with the other. The equipment opens and closes cassettes with damaging the casing. It can be operated in darkroom conditions.</p> |
