This invention relates to a selective printing mechanism. The printing apparatus includes several carrousels which are mounted on a principal rotating plates. Each carrousel supports, in addition to rotating cylinders having printing characters, charactercarrying elements fixed on the plate of the respective carrousel. The principal rotating plate carries also rotating printing cylinders and charactersupporting elements fixed on its plates.
