A channel-shaped sealing strip is for mounting on a flange around a door or window opening in a motor vehicle body. It comprises a channel-shaped metal core or carrier(5). Hard flexible material and softer material are each arranged to define respective longitudinally extending ribs(12) which grip the flange when the part(10) is placed thereover and help to prevent its inadvertent removal. The relatively softer material is extruded integrally with an external sealing bead running alon the sealing strip.
