Fire detector coupling mechanism - has mounting plate with locating elements and terminal connections for detector head

The coupling mechanism for mounting a fire detector head, or an ionisation chamber, on a socket plate has a simplified design which favours mass production. The plate has locating elements for the detector head, whose setting can accommodate any type of head without risk of faulty connection. Indicators point out, which detector head is to be coupled to the given terminals, the round mounting plate exhibiting peripheral openings for fitting, while the locator is elastic and may be semicircular. The plate (1) has a concave recess for the photoelectric detector head (15), and its centre holds connection terminals. Elimination of contact when a ionisation chamber is fitted instead of a photoelectric head is ensured by preventing entry of projections (17, 19) into recesses (3, 12).
