The actuation of the tape and magnetic-head guides in audio tape apparatuses has been carried out in the past by using short levers, since long levers could cause inadmissible deformations, in particular in the case of cassette audio tape apparatuses, which have lightweight chassis. For multi-shaft drives, stable chassis are used, which permit longer actuating levers and consequently easier operation. In the case of the present mechanism, an actuating lever (31), which actuates the magnetic head (311) and the pinch roller (62), is arranged in a movably mounted manner at a considerable distance from the magnetic head (311), thereby achieving easier and operationally more reliable actuation. <IMAGE>
