PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method, a coating system and a heating apparatus, which can perform a safe and high energy efficiency heating process at the time of heating the outer face of a metal pipe before the external coating of the metal pipe.SOLUTION: A coating method of the invention is characterized by comprising: a preprocessing step of coating, before an external coating, a substrate material capable of absorbing an infrared ray, to the outer face of a metal pipe P; a heating step of heating the substrate material to heat the metal pipe P by radiating the infrared ray to the underlying material applied to the outer face of the metal pipe P having been subjected to the preprocess; and an outer surface coating step of applying a water-based coating to the heated substrate material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
