The present invention relates to a method for preparing 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA), the method comprising oxidizing 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) in a mixture solvent containing an alcohol and an organic acid, in the presence of a composite catalyst containing cobalt halide and manganese halide. According to the method for preparing FDCA of the present invention, a high yield of FDCA can be obtained from HMF even without going through complex processes, so that FDCA can be not only used as an alternative of terephthalic acid, which is a raw material of polyester, but FDCA, which is usable as an intermediate of a polymer, a fine chemistry product, a medical product, and an agricultural chemical, can also be mass-produced on a commercial scale. |
