Neutron collimator with adjustable radiation field, containing opposite pairs of blocks of neutron-absorbing material, which are arranged so that they can move toward and away from each other in a path which cuts the radiation field from an effective neutron radiation source 4, and which have the shape of number plates 10, whose thickness diminishes in the direction toward the effective neutron radiation source, support elements for carrying the plates, a frame 11 in which the support element is fastened, and a radiation-protecting housing 12 around the frame. The invention is characterised in that each plate 10 is moveably mounted on its own support element 17, that the storage element 20 is arranged between the particular support element and plate, that the plates are placed alongside each other, top surface against top surface, to form a fan-shaped configuration, whose vertex is located essentially at the position of the effective neutron radiation source 4, and the support element is arranged so as to impart a translatory and a rotational motion to the plates during their movement, so that the inner edge surface 22 of each plate in each plate adjustment position essentially points toward the effective neutron radiation source 4. <IMAGE> |
