The present invention relates to a composition comprising a Pogostemonis Herba extract which can be effectively used for preventing or treating liver disease. It has been specifically confirmed that the Pogostemonis Herba extract of the present invention can be used to effectively reduce ALT in blood, IL-6 concentration and TLR 4 protein expression level within a liver. Thus, a more fundamental approach to a targeted therapy is expected to prevent or treat liver disease.
