The invention relates to the construction of an enclosed compressor with a plastic impeller which, in the region of one of its end plates is made lighter by axial blind grooves, the pressure generated by the compressor being utilised to force the impeller with the end plate, where the grooves are open, against the corresponding wall of the casing chamber, in order to reduce a detrimental effect of the grooves on the compressed-air capacity of the compressor.
