Turntable for machine for applying shrink-fit covers to containers - with baffles for selective guidance of containers of differing size

A device for guiding a succession of containers of various sizes to one of several sheathing units on an annular locus comprises a turntable with a baffle to confine the containers prior to their passage through a chicane beneath a coating unit of appropriate size. The chicanes are sized or gated to collect the corresponding containers. The sheathed containers are collected from the perimeter of the turntable. The heights of the sheathing units are independently adjustable above the turntable, to suit different container sizes. Individual containers may be halted and aligned beneath each sheathing unit by suitable mechanical fingers. The offtake conveyor may pass through an oven to shrink fit covers of e.g. thermo-retractable PVC. Can accept gps. of containers of various sizes and input rates from a suitable conveyor, sorting and controlling their throughput to the sheathing units.
